Emily, Registered Veterinary Technician

Emily graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College in 2016 and the Companion Animal Physical Rehabilitation program at Northern College in 2017. She had worked at a few other vet clinics but recently became apart of the team in September 2022.

Outside of work, Emily loves horseback riding, spending time at the cottage, snowboarding, and jet skiing. She shares her life with Lily, a Siberian Husky Mix, and Amber, a Canadian Horse Cross.

Natalie, Veterinary Assistant

Natalie initially joined the Toronto Animal Eye Clinic on a part-time basis in 2019 and enjoyed it so much she decided to join us full-time! Having completed the Veterinary Assistant program at St. Lawrence College in 2013, Natalie is an accomplished assistant. Her career began at a busy primary care practice before she forged a path for herself in emergency medicine. The lure of ophthalmology proved to be too strong, and she abandoned it all to become Dr. Zigler’s assistant in early 2020.

Natalie shares her life with a human, a gorgeous Cane Corso aptly named Kane, 2 lovely cats as well as a gecko, hedgehog, and even a tarantula or two. Her colleagues are eternally grateful that her tarantulas remain at home while she’s at work!

Marina, Receptionist

Being one of our two receptionists, there’s a 50% chance Marina will be your very first contact when reaching TAEC.

Marina has been a veterinary receptionist since 2017, where she worked closely with her previous vet. Having been part of a 3-person team, she had to adjust on the dime to working back of house (assisting with treatments and surgeries) in addition to front (reception and client communications). After witnessing a positive change post-enucleation (eye removal) in one of her dear patients, Marina became fascinated with ophthalmology and sought to work with us long before we took her on in 2021.

P.S. - She’s pug-sessed, having two pugs of her own named Peanut and Jelly.
